Today is the last day of my working life and in China. I will officially retire and back to my beloved hometown Penang tomorrow. My colleages in Guangzhou organized this grand farewell dinner for me and my wife with unending yamsengs of course LOL . Thank you for all the kind hospitalities and cooperations. I miss you all. Goodbye and God bless you all.

Cool Conductor

I was travelling in this bus in rural Guangzhou area. The motor of the electrical door motor was fully exposed against all safety rules. Worse still the lady conductor was resting her foot on the bare motor. This is too much already LOL LOL LOL

Giant Buddha of Hong Kong Lantau Island

To go there first take underground to Tung Chung station (after Disneyland) and then bus 23 to The Great Buddha. One day unlimited travelling in the island is HK$50 during holiday/weekend and HK$25 weekday. The journey up down mountain is quite an experience, not for the weak heart (Genting pale in comparison). After visiting the Buddha, take bus 21 to visit Tai-O village for some dry seafood and more sightseeing. From Tai-O take bus 11 back to Tung Chung station. Do some last minute shopping or food at the Citygate Mall next to the station.

How much it cost me from Guangzhou:
Express train from GZ East Station to HK Hung Ham station RMB190. (one half hour)
Hung Ham Station to Tsim Tung station HD$7
Walk to Tsim Sa Chui underground station.
Tsim Sa Chui station to Tung Chung HD$17 (underground)
Lantau Island day bus fare HD$50
Return from Tung Chung station to Prince Edward station HD$17 (underground)
Take exit C1 to China Travel, Portland Road.
Bus HK-Guangzhou HK$100 (3 hours)

Ants of Macau

Hundreds of these petty smugglers criss crossing Macau-China border everyday from dusk to dawn. Surprisingly the authorities are very tolerant towards these people (tutup satu mata LOL ) even though they add lots of pressure on the already overloaded immigration check point. Locals call them ants moving houses LOL LOL LOL .

New Karaoke Gimmick

This sleek machine with 20,000 songs built in is only USD 60, play only, cannot edit/delete or recording. This comes to only 0.30 cents per song which is so much cheaper than pDVD. (Price pDVD = USD 1, average 20 songs, 5 cents per song)

If you want record/edit function, there is a HDD version with 40,000 songs pre-recorded for USD 500 (which is still cheaper than pDVD)

Sing your heart out. LOL LOL LOL
